The sun rises in the east and sets in the west
It touches all under heaven through its journey
It seeks no gain or gratitude, duty it is and sees it through
A lion would protest its young, a hen its chicks
What won’t a mother do for her own
For through the pack the wolf survives

Our wisdom makes a mockery of us all
For out of our foolishness, good things go bad
Movement becomes mechanical, words mere courtesy
Lacking in feelings, love goes stale, we become blind to what matters most
We were not meant to live as brutes but to follow virtue and knowledge
For it’s in the nature of all things God made us beautiful

Aphrodite gave Paris the love of the most beautiful woman
And for that love Troy fell, the fault is not in our stars
What would be my curse if I were to go down this path?
Why do good people suffer so much?
In writing this, I wanted to make you smile
Only sadness seems to come, words fail me.

The world is not fair that much you know
Some things we can change some things we can not
When is it right to see much suffering and do nothing?
Since when has enduring pain become a virtue?
Was this what we wanted, when the world still made sense?
I choose to be happy and be at peace, for in this there is dignity.

For the most beautiful woman in the world
In whose presence I am forever lost, grinning sheepishly
Like fine wine gets better with time
You are loved by me, that has always been true
Wanted it to be perfect that is why I took this long to write this
I leave to you to give this work a title befitting.
